From process data to a reviewable thermowell calculation
WellFreq is being developed around PTC 19.3 TW-2016 (R2025). Its purpose is to make the calculation workflow easier to review, from dimensions to the resulting checks.
01 / Define the project
Organise thermowells by project, client, site and location. A visible tag keeps the current calculation identifiable.
- Project and thermowell tag
- Client, plant and location
- Explicit saved / modified status
02 / Describe the process
Enter fluid velocity directly or derive it from mass or actual volumetric flow and the pipe bore.
- Multiple flow and dimension units
- Manual or catalogued pipe dimensions
- Fluid properties at service conditions
03 / Review the design
Inspect the dimensioned thermowell and the detailed calculation findings. Numerical PASS/FAILED and material approval are separate statuses.
- Geometry and process values together
- Visible numerical result
- Detailed checks and applicability findings
04 / Keep the record
Save calculation revisions in the right project. Final report availability depends on valid inputs and the material approval workflow.
- Saved inputs and revisions
- Material and pipe references
- Print-ready calculation report
E(T) · S(T)
The engine already supports interpolation of E(T) and S(T) between available tabulated temperatures, without extrapolation. The licensed and validated commercial data library is still in preparation.
Does a PASS result mean ASME certification?
No. PASS describes the implemented numerical checks for the supplied inputs. It does not constitute ASME certification, approval by a client or approval of an installation.
